Philip Bates Trust Thank you!
Fri 20 Dec 2019Thank you to the Phillip Bates Trust for their donation of £400 for arts in school.
The whole school took part in an art project over several days in November; every child was involved in sewing, painting, making fabric, printing etc. and the whole project has come together to make a wonderful collage which is displayed in the main entrance.
Our Mayor, Deputy Mayor and Cllr Hennesey officially unveiled the collage with the help of School Council.

School Council Visit to Preston Town Hall
Tue 05 Nov 2019On Tuesday 5th November, our School Council visited Preston Town Hall with Mrs Whitfield. They had the chance to have a tour of this wonderful and historic building, as well as meeting some of Lancashire's Councillors. Thank you to Nikki Hennessey for inviting them!

Halloween Party
Sat 02 Nov 2019Thank you to The Friends and to all the children to came along to our Halloween Party. It was a fantastic success and raised over £270 for The Friends fundraising. All Friends fundraising goes towards enriching our children’s education at Asmall, including paying for transport for our trips. Sponsored Spell
Wed 16 Oct 2019Our School Council launched Asmall's 2019 Sponsored Spell in assembly on Monday 14th October. Every child in school then took home their sponsorship pack that night. The aim is to raise as much money for ICT equipment for school whilst having fun learning the spellings! The children can choose to learn as many words off their spelling lists to be tested in class w/b 4th November. If you have any questions - just ask! Thank you for your continued support. #HelloYellow
Fri 11 Oct 2019This Thursday we said 'HelloYellow' and raised £220 for the YoungMinds charity. Thank you for your donations and helping us raise awareness on World Mental Health Awareness Day. The children really enjoyed wearing yellow and learning the importance of looking after our minds. -
Harvest Assembly
Wed 09 Oct 2019Thank you to everyone who contributed food for our Harvest Assembly. We were able to donate fresh produce to Cottage Lane Mission luncheon club and packaged food to Ormskirk Food Bank. -
Campaign for Climate Change
Mon 23 Sep 2019One of our children in Year 3 has inspired the whole school to think about climate change. Jacob Scahill made a short video at home to show his classmates how our actions are affecting the planet. As a result, Year 3 had a special climate change day on Friday 20th September. The children made some posters which they used to lead whole school assembly on Monday 24th September. They talked about the different ways that children can help both at school and at home. Everyone was keen to get involved. One child HAS made a difference! -
Mrs Thompson’s Retirement
Tue 23 Jul 2019Mrs Thompson has retired after 35 years associated with Asmall Primary School, with 33 years as Teaching Assistant. We wish her health and happiness. -
Summer Fayre Success
Sat 06 Jul 2019Thank you to The Friends for organising a super Summer Fayre which was opened by the Deputy Mayor. Thank you also to Ormskirk Music Society Orchestra for providing music indoors. -
