Impact

Children’s work in topic and English books evidence a broad and balanced geography curriculum.  Their work demonstrates that children have understood the identified key knowledge and vocabulary from our curriculum in addition to the development and application of key skills, supported by fieldwork.

By the time children leave Asmall, they have developed a deeper knowledge, understanding and appreciation of our local area and its place within the wider context of our county, country and world. This will have been supported by our school’s contact with Matagalu School in Kenya, by participation in theme days (e.g. International Languages Day) and by field trips within and beyond Ormskirk and Lancashire.  This ensures that our children are ready for the next stage of geography teaching in key stage 3.
