Impact
The impact of the school’s MFL curriculum:
- Children are curious and have a deeper understanding of the world they live in.
- Children discover and develop an appreciation of spoken and written Spanish.
- Children appreciate stories, songs, poems and rhymes in the language.
- Children understand and are able to respond to both spoken and written language.
- Children are able to speak in Spanish with increasing confidence and fluency.
- Children can speak in sentences, using familiar vocabulary, phrases and basic language structures.
- Children are able to apply the variety of grammatical structures that they have learnt.
- Children can write at varying length, for different purposes and audiences.
Teachers use on-going assessment to monitor the children’s progress. The MFL subject lead monitors the teaching and learning of Spanish across KS2 to evaluate the impact of the curriculum on children’s learning and progress. Attainment is recorded and analysed termly via SIMS.
