Caterpillar Room
Welcome to the Caterpillar Room
Hi, Welcome to The Caterpillar room. We are a small homely room with 4 members of staff. Caterpillar room is open from 7.45am - 5.45pm and the children are provided with breakfast in the early morning session, and two snacks throughout the day. You are able to pay for a hot lunch which is provided by school or you can bring a packed lunch for your child to have.
We take children from 12 months and the children will transition to the preschool room around 30 months depending on availability and if the child is ready for the next transition.
We really love our messy play in caterpillar room and the staff always provide stimulating sensory experiences for the children to access and the children do tend to get very messy! We plan adult led experiences that are carried out by the child's key person. These are formed by our observation process identifying the individual child's learning needs and interests. Most of our weekly planning comes from the children's own interests and we enhance the different areas according to these helping them to learn through their play.
The children have open door access all day. We are able to use the undercover area for our babies who are not mobile. We also access the larger garden area which has fantastic facilities such as a jumping pad, slide, lots of challenging climbing equipment, an undercover sand pit and a large construction area.
