Arrangements for 8th March 2021

We were able to have a full return of staff and pupils from 8th March 2021.  Please read the letter above which explains this and contains our routines and expectations.

Children will continue to work in class bubbles with staggered start and end times to the day.

We regularly update our risk assessments and these can be found through the links above.

Please contact me through the school office if you have any queries.

Resources to support the return to school

How will my child be supported to learn at home in the summer term?

  1. Class Pages on the Website

Class teachers will continue to provide weekly learning on the class pages of our website:

Daily Maths (the school has a subscription with White Rose Maths – there is a daily lesson followed by a worksheet, answers are provided)

Daily English (activities based on a text)

Phonics

Reading Comprehension (there is a weekly comprehension, with answer sheet)

Topic – a selection of topic activities for the children to choose from

Wellbeing activities

PE Cards from WLSP

2. The Oak National Academy (at the bottom of the Classes page on our website)

There are sequences of lessons on a range of subjects for children to choose from, including art, science, Spanish, geography, history.  These are all video lessons, taught by teachers, which you can stop / start as you go through.

Select your year group and then choose the subject which you would like to do

3. Class teacher support

Telephone calls - your child’s class teacher will telephone you this week to catch up with you regarding how things are going with your child.  If you would like this to be a weekly call, then please let us know and we will organise a time for a weekly catch up with you.

Class Dojo – almost all parents have signed up to Class Dojo now.  This is an excellent form of communication during school closure.  If you haven’t signed up yet, please consider doing so.  There is a letter on your child’s class page for you to give permission.

Please use Class Dojo to message your child’s teacher with any questions you may have regarding home learning etc.  Also use it to let us know how your child is doing with home learning and what they have been up to.

It is also nice when the children send in their work through their portfolios and we can comment back to them.

Some of our teaching assistants who are working from home have recently joined Class Dojo and will be able to send messages of encouragement to the children too.  This is great for the children to see.
